E-Mail Spam Manager - Set-up and Instructions
(Reduce the amount of junk e-mails you receive)
If you have a website hosted with us, your e-mail control panel has a anti
spam manager. The instructions below will guide you through our recommended
setting. Please understand that if you use any e-mail spam
manager the system may block an e-mail or a number of e-mails that you want.
We advise you to use this and any anti-spam manager with
this in mind. For most users, the pro's out weigh the con's. Below you
will find instructions to guide you through the use of the spam manager.
- Log into your control panel. You do this by clicking on the link on the
home page of your site that says Control Panel, or you can go to your
internet browser and type in
www.YourDomainName.com/menu and click GO.
- When the log-in window appears type in your user name and
password.

- Under the Mail heading, click on the Spam Manager icon.

- Click on the Configure Spam Manager
link.
- We recommend you click the following buttons:

--------------------------------

--------------------------------

--------------------------------

--------------------------------

Then click the
.
I actually use the Delete option but you may want to check it out for
a few weeks before you check the Delete option.
(This will start storing the filtered mail in this section of your website
for up to 7 days. You can log back into the control panel, click the Spam
Manager and click the View Blocked Spam link and view the mail
that the system has filtered).
- The next thing to adjust, if you want, is the White List. Here you can
add e-mail address that you want your Spam Manager to skip. Click the
White List Management link.
- Fill in the from box with the e-mail address of people that you never
want the spam manager to catch mail. Enter one address per line. The
instructions are pretty easy there. The reason to add someone's e-mail
address there is to assure no messages are blocked from certain people, like
a close friends, relatives, or business acquaintances.

- After you enter the address you want, click the
button.
- The final step is to add Mail Filtering options. This is a very
powerful tool but you have to be careful not to add to many options here. I
recommend you use it to catch words that are commonly found in the subject
like of junk / spam messages. You can usually add words or phrases that you
never want to see in your e-mail In-Box again.
Click the first drop down button under the Mail Filtering header and
select Subject.

This is telling the mail filter to check the Subject Line of every
message.
- Leave the second box where it is
, and enter the
word or phrase in the blank box.

- Then click the
button.
The rule will be added and you will never see another message in your In-Box
that contains the word viagra unless it
was sent from someone on your White List.
Removing Mail Filtering Rules:
- If you ever decide to remove a Mail Filter rule, simply log back
into your control panel.
- Click the Spam Manager icon.
- Put a check mark in the little box in front of the rule.

- Click the
button.
There are more advanced setting you can adjust while there. I recommend you
leave those setting alone and use the white list. But if you wish, simply read
the instructions and hopefully everything will work to your benefit.
End of instructions.
