Copying Files in Windows

Windows XP | Windows 95 / 98 / ME

In Windows XP

1. Find the file on your computer
2. Click the file once.  The file name will be blue. To copy more than one file at a time, find the next file, hold down the Ctrl key, and click the other file you want to copy with the first one you selected. Repeat the last sentence to add more.  If you want to copy all of the files in that folder, click EDIT, SELECT ALL, all files will turn blue. If you want to copy several listed in a row or in order, click the first file, hold down the shift key and click the last file, all files between the first click and the last click will turn blue.
3. On the left side, click "Move this file or folder"
4. On the left side, click "Copy this file"
5. Navigate to where you want the file copied to, click it once so it turns blue
6. Click "Copy"

That's all it takes.  Now that file is in both folders.

In Other Window Versions

1. Find the file on your computer
2. Click the file once.  The file name will be blue. 3. Click EDIT, COPY TO FOLDER
4. Navigate to where you want the file copied to, click the folder to turn it blue
5. Click "Copy" or "OK"

You're done.  The file is in two places.
